Once upon a time, there are three young boys named Gold, Silver, and Indigo. These three are very brothers. They were very proud of the name they were bestowed upon as it also mimics their hair colour, except Indigo. Indigo always felt different than the two as his hair has a darker colour unlike his two friends, but also the fact that his name was taken after his eye colour. His brothers do not mind it, but casually poked at him about it jokingly. Indigo may not tell them right at their faces, but he tends to take those jokes seriously to the heart.

One day, they were hunting a deer in the forest. Gold and Silver were very adept at hunting, but while Indigo can still use the bow and arrow, he is still an amateur at hunting in general. Indigo is a timid boy, and he just likes reading books more than hunting and he thought that he’s just deadweight, but they insisted to bring him with them as a learning experience for him. They’re hunting a deer that was very sought out by other hunters. They called it “The Swift One” because how it somehow manages to avoid shots from hunters that has hunted it. It had a specific marking that looks like lightning in the form of white fur, and they’ve been looking for it since morning.

After hours of searching, they found their deer. Gold readied his bow, and just when he did, the deer saw him and ran away. He was shocked that it was able to react that quickly and was confused on how it did, he assumed that it was the quiver of the bow that alerted it. From that information, Silver’s approach was to bait the deer so it would be distracted enough for them to get a hit, hoping it would at least react slower than before. As the deer took the bait, Silver readies his bow and just from that, the deer ran away again. It was very frustrating for the two of them, but Indigo watches the whole ordeal carefully and formed a plan.

He suggested to his brothers to use the bait again but asked for them to wait until it’s slightly darker and let him be the one that shoot the deer. His brother was puzzled, but knowing they don’t exactly have any other ideas, followed his lead. After the bait was set, Indigo asked his brothers to be on two separate locations and start pulling the bow strings when it’s about to take the bait. He also asked them to hide behind trees just to be sure. They were still confused, but they trust their brother enough to follow this through.

As it finally reaches dusk, they found the deer taking the bait again. As both Gold and Silver pulled their bowstrings, it didn’t start running and instead looked around in an alarmed state. It looks confused as it stares at three separate directions, and finally they heard an arrow being shot and hit the deer as it screeches its death cry and fall flat to the ground.

They cheered over their victory against the deer. Gold and Silver asked Indigo for the reason how he figured how to hunt it down. Indigo explained that the deer didn’t just have very good hearing but also vision, and the reason it was able to react so quickly because at daylight, both Gold and Silver’s hair stand out too much that it can see where they would strike.

As they realized that, they both laugh and happily told his brother that maybe having hair like gold and silver was worse after all. They told him that he might surpassed them as hunters quicker than they would anticipate, and all thanks to the fact that he had darker hair. Indigo became slightly flustered by the compliments of his brothers and laughed as well. They took the deer back to town and Indigo became as one of the best hunter in town.
